FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Which countries can I go to?
AIESEC has a network in over 113 countries around the world, where projects and Internships are created by the AIESEC Committees themselves. We recommend that you go to the countries that we highly recommended for you to ensure that you have the highest quality experience as possible.

Will I be by myself?
It depends on which internship you chose - some have up to 10 interns from all over the world working on one project, whilst others will have only one position. But the AIESEC team in your host country will always be around to help you out if you need advice or want someone to hang out with.

Do I have to pay for airfares and accommodation?
Flights, yes; Accommodation, sometimes. AIESEC secures your internship position but the rest is up to you. This is unlike some of the 'prepackaged' internships out there who charge you thousands of dollars to organise your entire trip. We have found that it ends up being cheaper for you to organise the airfares yourself because it's more flexible. The local AIESEC committee in your host country helps you to organise accommodation, usually at a far cheaper rate than you'd be able to find yourself. Or some projects on our GO GLOBAL Program include accommodation. There are also often share houses which you can live in with other interns.

Am I eligible to participate in AIESEC's GO GLOBAL Program?
In order for you to be eligible to apply for our exchange program, you must meet the following criteria:
  • You must be a tertiary education student or within two years of graduation from a tertiary institution in Australia
  • You must be less than 30 years of age
  • You cannot return to the country of your origin - i.e. a country where you have lived in for more than two years, anytime during the last ten years

When can I start applying for AIESEC's GO GLOBAL Program?
As soon as you can! Most exchange programs that we are offering at the moment are for students who would like to go to winter breaks (June - July) or summer breaks (November/December/January).  Preparation period usually takes a lot more time so we suggest that you apply as soon as you can so that you can secure a spot to your suitable internships. We recommend that you apply on March – April for Winter Break and August – early October for the Summer Break.

With this, applications are normally open two to three months prior to the commencement of exchanges (for winter and summer breaks). However, if you would like to pursue our exchange program during a non-peak period instead, kindly contact us to express your interest in pursuing an AIESEC exchange of your preferred dates and we will see if we can arrange an exchange program for you.

How much does it cost?
The GO GLOBAL Program costs:

$600 for GO VOLUNTEER
$750 for GO TEACH (salary is included)

Do I get a refund if I do not end up going?
Generally, applicants do not get a refund. Applicants are required to have a flexible selection criteria and preference and should only be applying for internships/projects that they are qualified for, and these expectations would be ensured before payment is made and initial contracts are signed.
